Quote of the day

Who said this?

I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, on of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.

Dubya?

If only he could spell "unwittingly," I'd be impressed.

No this amazing quote is attributed to President Wilson...regretting his signing into law the Federal Reserve Act.

The Federal Rerserve Act!!!

The act that created the Fed, which is (to this untrained eye, at this point, or for a long time now) simply a bunch of "old boys" helping out their "old boys."

How many people with significant responsibility at the Fed were/are/will be people who derive a great deal of their income/wealth from Goldman Sachs.

GS alone.

Then add in the people affiliated with the GS clients and partners.

But they won't face any consequences.  They follow the golden rule:

He who has the gold, rules.

Unbelievable.

Yet, I believe.
